JAMB Official Cut-off Marks 2014

The long awaited 2014 JAMB Cut off mark was yesterday announced after the 5th Combined Policy meeting on admissions to tertiary institutions, held at the National Universities Commission, Abuja.

The cut off marked for 2014 admissions into universities was fixed at 180, while that of polytechnics and colleges of education was fixed at 150.

The Supervising Minister of education, Nyesom Wike frowned at the fact that some institutions did not utilize fully the quota given to them last year which consequently denied some candidates admission. He described this a s a great disservice to the Nigerian child.

The JAMB Registrar, Dibu Ojerinde gave a statistical break down of candidates’ preference for tertiary education as follows; degree awarding institutions totalled 1,584,348, representing 70 per cent; National Certificate in Education applicants totalled 25,767 representing 1.6 per cent; National Diploma, a paltry 22,072, representing 1.3 per cent while National Innovation Diploma had just 46, representing 0.003 per cent.

JAMB CBT 2015: JAMB Seeks More Centres

JAMB is seeking more JAMB CBT centres for the 2015 Computer Based Test. The Coordinator, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Lagos Zone, Alhaji Kamaldeen Adedeji, has urged stakeholders to collaborate with the board to prepare more centres for its Computer Based Test in 2015.

Adedeji told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos on Monday that the board had already started making moves that would ensure there were equipped centres for the tests by 2015.

He noted, however, that the collaboration of stakeholders was necessary to ensure that enough centres with necessary logistics were in place before the 2015 examination.

JAMB had said that it would in 2015 phase out the Paper/Pencil Test and the Dual Based Test modes of its Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination

According to him, there is no going back on the board’s plan to migrate fully to the computer-based platform by 2015 as it has started inaugurating more centres across the country.

He said, “This examination has come to stay because it is the future. We are not going to take anything to chance and that is why we have embarked on this project of building more centres for the examination in various states.

“What we have put in place will pass for model centres that have all it takes to contain a sizeable number of candidates, as well as back up, to ensure uninterrupted conduct of the examination.”

The JAMB official also called on stakeholders to join hands with the examination body to establish more centres.

“All we are soliciting is to get stakeholders across the country to join hands with the board in building more of such centres to ensure the conduct of a hitch-free examination.” (Source: NAN)

The Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-iwoye Performance Index for  OOU is a collection of candidates who chose Oou as their choice of Institution and scored up to 180  in the 2014 JAMB UTME only for 1st, 2nd  and 3rd Choice applicants.

Multiple Registration In JAMB Now Attracts Ban

Professor Dibu Ojerinde, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), revealed this to Nigerians Abuja during the inauguration of a model Computer-Based Test Centre built by the board in Kogo Bwari. He made this known while reacting to the report that some candidates were involved in multiple registrations this year

He said the board had already invalidated the results obtained by such candidates.

“The new policy is that any candidate who engages in multiple registrations will be banned for three years,” he said.

JAMB candidates who are planning to register for the next JAMB UTME should take note of this important warning.

How to check 2014 JAMB CBT result

Candidates who sat for the 2014 Joint Admission and Matriculations Board UTME can now check 2014 JAMB CBT result online.
The board took to their site to release the result of the CBT examination which has been on since 17th of may and will end on the 31st of may 2014.
