UNIABUJA: 2014/2015 Post Utme Form Is Out,Screening Details And Cut Off Mark Here

This is to inform all Candidates who applied for University of Abuja in the last utme, That her Post Utme form for 2014/2015 is out. prospective candidates should note that the Post Utme Screening holds on Friday 22/08/14 and Saturday 23/08/14 at main campus along airport road Abuja.

Requirements for Uniabuja 2014/2015 Post-UTME Screening
All interested Candidates are to come to the screening venue along with the following documents:

- Jamb Result Slip (Original and Photocopies),

- WAEC/NECO/NABTEB Certificate/Statement of results
(Original and Photocopies).

- 2(two) passport size photographs.

- A Bank draft of N1,000 (Payable to ‘The University of
Abuja’).

UNIABUJA New Vice Chancellor Emerges

Professor Micheal Umale Adikwu has emerged as the new Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja.

This followed the tenure expiration of Professor James Adelabu.

Adikwu a professor of Pharmacy from university of Nigeria Nsukka graduated in 1986 with a second class honours (upper division) Bachelor degree. He also obtained his Master’s and Doctorate degrees from Nsukka in 1989 and 1994 respectively.

He joined the services of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka as a Lecturer II in Pharmacy Department from 1990 - 1995, and was the Head of the Department, from 1995 – 1998.

He was until his appointment as the new UNIABUJA VC the National Project Coordinator for Science and Technology Education Post-Basic (STEP-B-) Project in the Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja.

UNIABUJA VC Bows Out as Tenure Expires Today

The Five year tenure of the Vice Chancellor of the University of ABUJA, Professor James Sunday Adelabu will Today 30th of June 2014 expire.

In his farewell speech the out-going Vice Chancellor showed his appreciation to the entire university community for an opportunity to serve.

He also clarified issues on the award of a N3billion contract at the end of his tenure as being rumoured.

“How can I award a contract like that given the fact that the NEEDS assessment is involved for which tendering and opening of bid was done? It was not even by the university but by a consortium.”

“The award of the contract had taken a normal process for which Council was to meet. They didn’t want me to award contracts as VC”, he said.

Meanwhile, the entire university community waits the announcement of a new VC

UNIABUJA: Temporarily Shut Down

Following students protest in the University of Abuja to register their agitation against the strike action embarked upon by the ASUU chapter of the institution, the school has been temporarily closed down.

Students are advised to vacate the hostels immediately.

According to a notice from the office of the Vice Chancellor, further developments on this matter will be communicated in due course.
